Struggle of a travel agency:

Jeremy runs a New York-based online travel agency. Their clients book their flights and other travel services through their website.

The client communication is mostly through emails. Customer representatives answer client queries, suggest the best options, and confirm flights.

They use Pipedrive to manage client booking details.

Jeremy noticed that his sales team spends a significant amount of time on data entry.

He wanted a solution to free up his sales team so they could focus on their core job.

There was no way to directly export booking details from email threads to Pipedrive.

He started looking for a solution to automate the process of extracting required data from email threads and populating those data points into the CRM, Pipedrive.

 

 

Zapier x OpenAI: Strengthening automation with Artificial Intelligence

Jeremy came to us with a seemingly unsolvable problem: he needed to find a way to automate the extraction of data from email threads.

 

We took the challenge and did some detailed research, communicating the possibilities with Jeremy along the way.

Once we all agreed that creating AI-powered automation would be the best solution, we presented our research to Jeremy and, upon his approval, began the development process.

We implemented a Zapier and OpenAI integration to automate the data extraction process.

However, there were some limitations to this integration, so we wrote some Python code to fill the gaps.

That’s how we helped Jeremy automate the process of extracting data from email threads and reduce the manual effort by 90%.

In essence, we combined OpenAI with Zapier to develop an information extractor tool that can read email threads, identify the required data points, and move this data to Pipedrive.
